WE ARE ON THE ISLAND...LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL...SUMMER 2005
I have never heard of such a service, though I have never had the need for one. Every family I have heard that goes focuses on family activities during the day.
I miss the old Mr. Ed's. I still hate the Beer Barrel. I'm diggin' Hooligans. And Mills isn't the only hot guy up there now with a bald head!

Mobay is right, I've never heard of anything like that either. The famlies do family stuff during the day and tend to depart the island when the night time debotchery starts. However if you're going to stay the night there's no rule against bringing your own sitter if you want to indulge in the bar scene.

My friend worked on the island for 3 summers and still Nanny's for a family from there now that she lives in Toledo, there are plenty of workers there that have down time and could use the extra cash. If my friends cousin works there this summer I could hook you up with her for some babysitting.
The family my friend Nanny's for also has a house on the island and will be staying on the island for the summer and I think they are going to have sitters from the island also.

Jesus we get distracted quick. Forget about quiting entirely. Picking up a pack on the way to the bar is acceptable. And when they're gone they're gone till next weekend. If Zosia can't deal with that, friends with bennefits is a good option.

baby sitting
If your looking for a full time sitter, those are hard to come by and go fast, as everyone needs a sitter. (now is the time to line one up for the summer) I would hang a sign up in the store stating what your looking for, or maybe post an ad in the Gazette.
You may even give the school a call and see if they would pass the word around that you are looking for some one.
The play group type activities are usally only held in the winter time, life is so hetic on the island during the summer season. Many islanders have memberships to the Crews Nest, and many kids go there every day with their sitters while the parents are at work. They have a very nice out door play area and of course the pool is great too.
And the Park is a great place to meet island families as well. Always lots of kids there.
Good luck.....and enjoy your first summer living on the Bay!
