This weekend was a blast. There were many people there although they didn't come on the board beforehand. Met a few new people, hahaaaaaa.(inside joke with the laugh)

We spent some time at Frostys and the Fishbowl.
Spent lot's of time at the PIB Resort and the boathouse.
Spent some time on the docks hanging out on the boats meeting new people and hanging with the regulars on A-Dock.
Drank too much the whole weekend. Ate a few corndogs, maybe a few too many.
Showed off my dancing skills, which I blame purely on Alcohol. Spent time with my beautful and understanding girlfriend, who by some miracle didn't dump my drunka$$ for acting like an idiot sometimes.
Hung out with Patti at the boathouse, as well as the Walkers.
Nobody did anything tremoundously stupid this weekend, although there was one brave girl that jumped in the water betweeen the boat and the dock to get sunglasses or something, I was walking on the dock still with the GF so we really didn't see it, she was fine and I believed got the sunglasses or whatever, and they weren't even hers.

Had the most fun at the boathouse and once again everyone on the island was polite and generous.

They had the White Spider night on Monday and the whole town waved by to us on the last miller ferry, as well as shooting fireworks off and spinning the boat around 15 times!! As we were getting off the locals who rode over with us thanked us for coming and were very polite.
It was a real nice treat and I had never heard of this before. I reccomend it and maybe next year we can be part of the people waving good-bye!!!

Had a great last weekend, at least until probably October, I will be there for at least Halloween and maybe a few others.

Great times as always and the island was packed too in case anyone was wondering. Pools all packed, DJ's still playin, the island is still busy on Labor Day.

That's it.

Time to catch up on all my work. Booooooooooo.

Patti, tell everyone at the Boathouse I said HI, especially Mikey!!!!
(and btw- noone let me watch the MSU game, but after the game I found a group of people on the dock who saw my MSU gear - including the green knee hi socks my GF bought me, and they said they had it on the boat on the satellite,,,,,if only they would have been part of Baytalk

It actually wasn't on cable there so I couldn't have watched it, the bartender at the Fishbowl was nice enough to look for it for me, his brother is a MSU fan so he was a little sympethetic.

Still a great time!!!!!!!!!

That is it from Detroit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Kay... what is this all about? Is it all the residents on the ferry... or are they all gather by the dock for a send off?

Both.

The banned was packed with residents and a lot of workers all waving good bye and drinking champagne and stuff. In addition to that there were other locals and whatnot that took the ferry over to Catawba with us but instead of getting off they stayed on and all thanked us for coming and waved by and stuff, it was really nice of them.

It was a nice send-off for one of the last remaining weekends,,,,,although New Years is still coming up! I am missing it this year but I recommend it, good times and real gambling in the streets!!! :D

Here's what I remember (it's a long one):

Arrived at the bay around 4:30 Friday (the first ferry we tried to catch was cancelled). Most of us were already feeling good from partying on the drive up. Stopped and picked up 6 cases + 6 fifths to go with our 200 jello shots. Unpacked and began the 3 day party. Hung out at the house before heading to Mr. Eds. Within 5 minutes I lost everyone in my group and ended up hanging out with some cool people from A dock and listened to a good live band. Stumbled down to The Worst Bar Ever where I was denied entrance (didn't that happen to Taz?). I didn't even say a word just handed them my ID and was told to come back when I was sober (now why would i want to be there sober?). Started the walk to the brewery and caught the taxi instead. Got home fell in the door and proceeded to pray to the porclein god. Another one in the group was found by the cops getting sick on the park bench and they were kind enough to dropp her off at home. Not sure how the rest of the group made it back that night. Someone one of the guys with us brought home made the walk of shame out of the house in the AM :) LOL! While we ate pancakes and jello shots (the breakfast of champions). Continued partying at the house (part of the group broke off to head to the pool), had to pick up another 10 cases and build a pyramid. Once the rest came back we headed to Mr Eds and the brewery where I once again lost my group and partied with some really great people. I believe I ran into the group from A dock again. Then went home to dance on the picnic tables and bong some beer along with a few jager bombs. Can't tell what happened after that :) Did the same thing all over again (had to make another beer run) on Sunday, had a few more join the group for the night. Another hilarious walk of shame the next morning. A few didn't make it out after coming back from the pool that day. LOL! Toni the cab driver is the best! He must have been at our house 20 times over the weekend.
Casualties included an air mattress, digital camera and football. Not bad considering all the alcohol we consumed. Great weekend overall!

Hope you enjoyed the report.

Labor Day Weekend

Post by baylink » Wed Sep 07, 2005 2:44 pm

This is the end of the summer WAVE. Alot of the [banned]'s and workers line up at the Lime Kiln Dock for the last ferry on Labor Day (8:00 pm). Miller Ferrys hands out Wine and as the ferry leaves it turns to the crowd on the banned and everyone toast and waves the summer away. Like the Whiskey light it is an island tradition. Usually alot of wet eyes on the banned.

Hey, my GF just sent me the pics from the weekend, I forgot that there was a certain baytalk member who was wearing a jean mini skirt to the bar, and it wasn't a girl.

But I told him I wouldn't show the pics.

Just another weekend at the Bay!
