first time boating to the bay
This is my first time bringing the 26' to lake Erie and the Bay, what is the best marina/place to dock and where is it?
Rather regret something that I did, than something I didn't
If you're putting the boat in @ catawba or there abouts, head around the west side of the island to the north side. The bay is directly on the north side. Head in towards the Boardwalk Restaurant and the dock entrance is on the left. Try to get on the inside of the docks there so you will have protection from the jet express waves and if the lake gets rough. C-DOCK is all the way to the left (east). About 100' down the dock from land is where you have full protection from a wall that goes all the way down (you'll see what I mean).
There are other marinas, some private, but this is where it's at, in my opinion. A & B dock are fine as well and very protected.
Mapquest Put In Bay, OH and zoom in. I think you can use google maps, too. You may be able to get a decent satelite photo.
Good Luck and Have Fun!
