I spent New Year's eve in Poland, great time! Went to a party that was like a wedding. I ate and drank too much and had a great time!!!!

Tipper's, The Brewery and The Skyway were all open New Year's Eve. I bartended at Tipper's and the bar was crowded. A band even came over for the evening. Can't say which bar was the best because I worked. New Year's Eve is a great time on the island. It was busier this year because Miller's is still running.

I wonder if the lake will freeze this winter? It has been so warm it may not for a while?

I can pretty much guarantee that the lake won't freeze this winter... It's been too warm up here for it to do that. Today is the first day that it's been in the low 30's in a long time. It was just 60 last week up here.
Hey! Who took the cork off my lunch??!

Yea, I don't see it freezing either this year! That will make for some heavy snow later if we get any.
It happened at the bay, and man, I can't even remember her name!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the weather got cold enough for the lake to freeze after all!

The lake is hard, the trails are smooth, the shanties are set and the fish are proving to be very hungry. I can't resist that kind of a calling..Sat. arriving on North Bass mid day...and an hour later will find me sitting on a bar stool at Tippers followed by a little round of bar hopping and then to the ice shanty I will retire to for the rest of the afternoon. :D I already feel the weight of the mainland shedding off, and I seem to have a bit of a skip in my step.

Nah, you didn't speak too soon. Nobody thought the lake was gonna freeze. My dad was still running around out there in his boat a couple of weeks ago. Most everyone had written the ice off again this year.

I'm getting ready now to go ice fishing. We have our wine, coors light and hot cider. Now we just need to catch some fish. Oh how I love the island in the winter.

Well Patty..I hope you had better luck than I did fishing! However, a nice warm fish shanty, a bottle of vino, and a beautiful sunset...who am I to complain.
