Okay, I understand the need for the red shorts...I was just kiddin' ya Mills... Heck, with the weather up here lately, ANY color short would be fantastic!
And thanks for the info, Tipster...do they charge a cover at the Boathouse? (Need to funnel my money into the most alcohol possible, you see...haha)

Gotta Love the Brewery and Ray!

8) Ray Fogg is the coolest and that makes the Brewery my favorite! Though I have to agree that they need to bone up on the service...

Yea the Boathouse usually only charges when there is a live band playing.

best bar

Post by tipster » Sun Feb 08, 2004 4:22 pm

ed's (during the day) is my choice for one simple reason: the bartenders (jer, leslie & TL)are amazing!!!! they always are husling(but still have time for a good word or at least a hello) jer is always making up some new concoction and is just pure fun. leslie is mostly all business but still very friendly; and TL can just remember our entire round better than we can!!! best prescence i have ever seen in a bartender!!! gives you a taste of being home even tho you're on a tourist island.
you can keep it at nite tho. that ghetto music is just too much. find me at roundy or boathouse!!! a nice place to check out also is the lil winery by the jet dock.

The Boathouse got a lot better when they expanded. They get some really good bands in there (my favorite is Jady Kurrent), but the cover is pretty steep and there's usually a line to get in (although it moves pretty fast). The Beer Barrel is a good place to go because it's huge. Plus they only charge a cover for certain bands (let's hope that continues this year). Being that it's February, all the places sound good.

I don't think the round house is getting the respect it deserves here

Does PIB have fire inspecters? I'd respect the round house more if they invited those guys in once in a while.
I miss the old Mr. Ed's. I still hate the Beer Barrel. I'm diggin' Hooligans. And Mills isn't the only hot guy up there now with a bald head!

I like the Roundhouse in the beginning of the season, but after that it gets way to crowded for me. A round (semi round) bar in not efficient for huge crowds with only one bathroom. It takes forever to fight your way through the crowd to get to the bathroom (unless you're standing right there). I do kind of like the Buckethead's though, although I've never personally drank a whole bucket by myself. I also agree that Mad Dog is pretty good and I really like Calabash. I don't like the way they clear everyone out in the afternoon then start charging a cover charge in the evening. I guess, personally, I just like other bars better. That's the great thing about PIB, there's someplace for everyone.

When the RHB is full it's just as easy to run to the park restrooms.
Of course I'll respect you in the morning. Now roll over.

Great idea J Harvey. I think I suddenly like the RHB a lot better.

RHB on a summer weekend night is the only place you can get more beer on you than in you... and I hate wasting beer!
