Allrighty! A long-ass winter is behind us. I know some hard-cores have already gone to the promised land, but we are headed up on May 11 through 12! Who's with us???? See you at Joe's!! (and the winery!) (and everywhere else!)

Kentucky Derby May 5! I wonder if anywhere on the Island serves mint julips?

I am hoping to be there both weekends...

WCM,
The Roundhouse serves mint julips all day long. It's actually their special of the day.

I've never actually had one before. They sound good though since I like mint. Probably don't taste anything like what I'm imagining though.

I've also never had one, but whatever, after a few beers I'm sure I can throw one down...

I'll have to check out the roundy that day!

I hear they were terrible, I remember last year they were talking about some they were selling for 500 bucks. THey had a diamond encrusted stirer and the booze was some special barrel or some crap.

My folks said they taste like crap. I have never tried one.
I heard they are a sipping drink also. Screw that.

I'm glad I found out that they suck before I bought one. Nothing is cheap on the island and I'd hate to spend my money on something I wouldn't even enjoy. The bay is definitely not a place for sipping drinks. Looks like I'll be sticking with my beer.

Beer is cheaper in the stores on PIB then in Michigan. Plus no deposit.
This helps lighten the load on the trip down.

I don't understand not haveing 80 proof liquor in the stores, who thought of such a stupid idea.
