We came up for the weekend and stayed at the new resort. I was EXTREMELY impressed with what our group saw. We have stayed at the Bay Lodging House (a dump with rude people) and the [banned] Island hotel on our last 2 visits and I must say this was a pleasant surprise.

The pool was not completed but looks like it will be very nice. You could tell it was a neat place when you walked in the door. The people were very friendly and the rooms were off the hook! The suite was about 800 square feet and had 2 TV's, a refrigerator and microwave. The countertops were all granite and there appears the have been lots of thought and detail in the layout.

It was nice not having to sneak beer into the room like you do at other hotels as they only said we could not bring in a cooler as it might leak. I have only stayed at 2 hotels on the island but this one has the others beat HANDS DOWN!

We have a reservation to return late June and I will let you know how the pool is. Anyone going to be there for the Parrot head weekend?

We had a suite at the pre season rate. It was $325 per night and they permit 6 people. My weekend in June it is $375 per night but when I checked a few other hotels they were like $260 per night and only let 4 people stay. It was nice being right downtown, I am going to stay there from now on.

I will be staying there with during Parrot Head weekend. I stayed in a house last year(Chalet at the Bay), and it was great, but I think it will be even better being right downtown. Some of my buddies and myself(18 to be exact) have 3 suites. Should the pool be done by June 10?

The pool may be done weather permitting this weekend. In the worst case, next weekend. They are pouring the deck in the morning and will start glazing the pool as well. I will post upon its completion!
