I don't know for sure, but I think you have to be a yacht club member to dock there.

And nothing is comparable to the public docks. The rest are generally a little more low key.

The first mid-trip trip report, July 3-8

I came into the office today basically because by checking in I don't have to use a vacation day, but I'm pretty worthless right now. I went to Joe's for lunch yesterday (Beer is food. Eat at Joe's) and had a great time, saw the parade go by, got some beads, remembered that beads were stupid and gav...

ah...the lake...I had some of the more pleasant ferry rides last night and this morning as the weather was perfect! Nothing like hopping on the ferry as part of your morning commute to work! I've looked at the LEIHS site before (I see where you were accredited). Neat to see the early Bass Island sur...

someone should write a book (or enhanced org chart) about family trees on the island...that would be something else. I get confused just thinking about all the dotted lines (and lines that are no longer existant, or existant, but not actively engaged)

speaking of the Browns, this weekend is the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers rib burn off at the Skyway from 11-5 (?) on Saturday. Reggie Langhorn and Felix Wright are scheduled to be there as well as some of the more known Browns fans from the dog pound. I think its only $10 donation for the ribs.....

I usually start my night at The Fishbowl b/c it's not too crowded and I can catch up with everyone before I get into a drunken stupor. Kind of like warming up before you actually go play. After that it's usually some non-sensical version of a bar crawl. I think I should be able to recognize some of ...

I'll be up...maybe we can "meet" for a few drinks and if I play my cards right, I'll remember meeting you! Hopefully we can avoid the t-storms in the forecast, although it always seems to rain Memorial Day... I think this weekend will be HOPPING! You could tell the Island was getting prime...

First, I smoke, mainly because of the fact that I drink frequently and hang out with a bunch of smokers. Eventually, it became a "when in Rome" type thing. So yes, more bar patrons are probably smokers than not. Still, I don't see at all how this is a bad thing. If you don't want to believ...

I smoke (when drinking). I've been to the Island twice since the ban was being enforced. It's not a big deal to go outside. In fact, I prefer it that way - I don't have to change my clothes or shower before going out drinking again the next day :)

Most places have convienent smoking areas anyway.

I fully intended on trying one, but Saturday was such a drunken mess that by the time the Derby rolled around, I had no idea what was going on. And maybe I was a little infatuated with the flambongos...
